Control a Visu from your iPhone

Visu Control turns an iPhone or iPad into a viewer and touch controller for a visu open in the Visu.Haus app on Mac. It connects directly to the Mac app; the web Editor alone cannot host this connection.

Connect to the Mac#

1. Open Visu Control on the iPhone or iPad.
2. Select Remote.
3. Wait for a card with your Mac's name to appear.
4. Tap the Mac card. On later visits, Visu Control remembers this Mac and tries to reconnect automatically.
5. Open a visu in Visu.Haus on the Mac if one is not already open.

While connecting, the phone shows Connecting to Visu.Haus for Mac. If the connection succeeds but no visu is open, it shows Open a Visu on your Mac. The viewer appears automatically as soon as a visu is available.

Use the QR code if the Mac does not appear#

1. In Visu.Haus on the Mac, open Settings.
2. Select Controls.
3. Find Visu.Haus Remote App → Mobile Remote. Its status should show Ready.
4. Click the underlined QR Code text to reveal the code.
5. On the iPhone, open Remote, tap the gear button, and choose Scan QR Code.
6. Allow camera access if asked, then scan the QR code shown on the Mac. There is no code to type.
7. The Mac status changes from Ready to 1 connected when the connection succeeds.

Control the visu without mapping anything#

After connecting, the phone opens in Viewer and mirrors the visu from the Mac. Use the switcher at the bottom to move between Viewer and Controls.

For the simplest workflow, stay in Viewer and tap the sliders button in the lower-left corner. Open full control shows the editable sections already provided by the visu. Change a slider, toggle, menu, button, color, text, or asset there and the visu on the Mac updates directly. You do not need to bind these controls first.

If the phone says No Mac controls yet, open a visu with editable controls on the Mac. They appear on the phone automatically.

Build and bind a custom control deck#

Use Controls when you want a performance deck made from larger, reusable touch surfaces.

1. On the iPhone, select Controls in the bottom switcher.
2. Use an existing card or tap + to open Add Control and add a slider, knob, strip, color pad, compass, or tilt control.
3. On the Mac, right-click the visu parameter you want to control.
4. Choose Bind External Control.
5. When the Mac says Move or press a control, touch or move the exact control you want to use on the iPhone.
6. The first valid input completes the binding automatically. Use the phone control again to test it.

The ? button in Controls opens Bind Custom Control and repeats the same two-step instruction. A bound phone control becomes active, and its card settings show Bound with the name of the Mac parameter.

Change the board or reconnect#

The custom board layout is saved on the iPhone, but its links to Mac parameters are temporary. When you open another visu or begin a new document session, keep the board and bind its controls again.

• To add another surface, tap + in Controls and choose one under Add Control.
• To remove a link from the phone, open that card's settings and unbind the control, or choose Unbind All.
• To replace an input from the Mac, right-click the parameter and choose Rebind External Control.
• If the Mac disappears, confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi and temporarily disable any VPN that blocks local devices.
• If Visu Control shows Can't Find Your Mac, allow local network access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → Visu.Haus, then choose Refresh Discovery.
• If discovery still fails, return to Settings → Controls on the Mac and scan the QR code again.
